The Christmas Event edition by Dan Barbier Literature Fiction eBooks

This well written Flash novel is great for anytime of the year yet it truly does bring the meaning of Christmas to light, even if it does so rather harshly. Join Billy on his last minute Christmas rush as he tries to get those gifts during a winter storm.

Mr. Barbier's writing draws the reader in, making the pages come to life. Due to this being a flash novel and not wanting to spoil the story (less is good) this review will conclude with just one more note of interest. Before I criticize any author on grammar or spelling, I read their bio., in doing so I learn where they are from; Mr. Barrier has been given harsh reviews that should have been squashed if others had done this first.

With that being said get your fast paced easy to read novel that will keep you busy during commutes or waiting your turn here.

The Christmas Event edition by Dan Barbier Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Maybe I just don't get it. But the way-too-obvious moral message was made wierder by the fact it was written in the first person. Awful ending.
I got pulled into this short story at the first word, was enjoying what appeared to be a typical, light, seasonal, tale. I was taken totally by surprise at the end. The message is very clear and should be heeded by every person who is just too busy! Since that applies to most of us, I recommend this short, very well written tale. It only takes a few minutes and it should make you think! Excellent short read!
Nice little story. A little bit predictable, but well written. An enjoyable story all in all. I would recommend it.
This is my second book from this author and he seems to be obsessed with playing on the readers emotions. I didn't know what this short story was about prior to reading, but I definitely didn't expect that ending! A good, quick read.
This book has a lot of errors, way too many for such a short read. I felt the story was just too lame, too contrived, too coincidental. (If you do read it you'll know what I mean.) Since getting my kindle 2 years ago I've read a lot of poorly written, "bad" books, but I actually liked them and would read them again. I don't need perfection to enjoy a book and a lame story isn't necessarily a deal breaker for me. This book, however, doesn't have any redeeming qualities, in my opinion, and shouldn't be read even if gotten for free.
The Christmas Event is an amateur six to seven minute long short story about a guy whose parents were killed when an overpass collapsed on them during a snowstorm they shouldn't have been driving in. He has left his Christmas shopping until the last minute, there's a really heavy snow storm that's getting worse and worse, his wife, his friends all tell him forget about it, just come home or get the gifts on boxing day. There's also a number of missing words and typos throughout the text. Spell check obviously wasn't used. If the author had been able to come up with an ending that wasn't lazy and predictable he may have been able to save this but as it stands, I'd read one of the thousands of other short stories this Christmas.
